Hypnosis Self Help - HyperAwareness

It is Spring, time to spring forward into action, time to spring clean.  Spring is about new beginnings. But with all of this, we sometimes forget to just stop, slow down, reflect and enjoy.  We are now beginning to see the buds on the trees, the spring flowers, and experience the soft spring rains.   But with our fast paced lives we can sometimes drift through this beautiful time without ever noticing it even happened.

So I have a couple of suggestions for you, two are very reflective and the other can be fun.   The first one is to sit in a room, sit upright, and begin to just be aware of all that is around you, the sights, sounds, smells and tactile sensations.  Then very slowly, close your eyes and begin to experience you. Be aware of what you sense, hear, feel, and think. Once you are done, open your eyes once again and experience how your outside might have changed.  Maybe sounds will be sharper, colors brighter, the tactile sensations more alive.  

Another suggestion, and probably my favorite, is to do the same as above, but outside.  Go to a park, your favorite outdoor place of solitude, and sit upright.  And begin to take in all that is around you.  The rustle of leaves, the smell of new growth, the vibrant colors popping up, the feel of the spring air on your skin.  And then slowly close your eyes, and go within, being aware of how your eyes continue to blink, the taste of a swallow, beat of your heart, the smell and taste of your skin.  Tighten your muscles and then relax them.  Once you are done with your journey within, slowly open your eyes, and experience how your outside world may have changed.

The third suggest is a fun one.  Have an agreement with a friend/partner, that a couple times during your day, they will come up and tap you on the shoulder.  They must not tell you that they will be doing this.   You are to stay aware of your surroundings, and stop them from touching your shoulder.  Think about the times you have been startled in the past by something unexpected only because you were focused on a thought.
